Working Toward a More Secure Future

Trained workforce employment counselors aid individuals, including seniors, who are seeking employment, are currently under employed, and those who need help identifying job opportunities.
  • Assessment of job history and barriers to employment
  • Identification of work goals
  • Job referrals and opportunities for training
  • Resume review and interview skills coaching
Services and aids include:
  • Computer Lab with Internet access, resume software, phone, fax, printer, and photocopier
  • Training for those with limited computer experience
  • Bus vouchers or gas cards
  • Assistance with haircuts & work attire
  • GED test preparation assistance

Competitive Edge: A Path for Jobseekers
September 25-28, 2017

This intense job-focused training is geared to registered clients who are seeking better employment. Featured are guest speakers, financial exercises, and job search guidance for unemployed or underemployed individuals. Lunch is provided.
 
The three and a half day event culminates in a Hiring Day with on-site interviews conducted by hiring companies.

Evening GED Instruction

Boost your employment opportunities by earning your GED. Trained volunteers are available to work one-on-one with individuals who are preparing to take the GED test.

Volunteers are available in our Computer Lab on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Students do not need to attend both nights and may work at their own pace.

Test fees are covered for those completing classes.
