Fifty years of helping people in the Metrocrest area is something to celebrate! 2021 marks half a century of helping individuals, families, and seniors build a brighter future. To mark the occasion, we embarked on a year’s worth of celebratory events. Here are just a few of the memories made this year during our 50th Anniversary festivities.
PROCLAMATIONS
Metrocrest Services received special recognition in celebration of our 50th Anniversary from the town of Addison, city of Dallas, city of Carrollton, city of Coppell, city of Farmers Branch, Dallas County, and Denton County.
We’re honored to have developed strong, lasting relationships, with the cities and counties we serve and appreciate their recognition of this milestone in our organization’s history.
LET’S ROLL TOILET PAPER CAMPAIGN
This summer, Metrocrest Services hosted the Let’s Roll Toilet Paper Campaign to collect 100,000 rolls of toilet paper for the pantry. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and organizations, we reached our goal and now have enough toilet paper to serve pantry visitors for a year. The funds typically used to purchase toilet paper for the pantry will be reallocated to support critical services like rent and utility assistance.
HOPS FOR HOPE
In August, we raised a toast to the people who make Metrocrest Services what it is today. At the Hops for Hope event, over 150 community members came out to 3 Nations Brewing to celebrate the unveiling of their Metrocrest Services commemorative beer and special label, the Legacy Lager.
Metrocrest Services has been able to do what it’s done for 50 years through the gracious support of people and businesses in our community,” said Tracy Eubanks, CEO of Metrocrest Services. A huge thank you to 3Nations for honoring us with a commemorative beer and special label, the Legacy Lager.
COMMUNITY PICNIC
In September, sunshine, songs, and laughter filled the air as hundreds of community members came together to celebrate our 50th Anniversary at a community picnic. During the picnic, guests enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs, ice cream, a petting zoo, yard games, face painting, puppet shows, rock painting, and more.
One of the most memorable moments was when a gentleman and his son stopped by the Metrocrest Services booth to thank us for hosting the event. They are new to Texas and rely on our food pantry for nutritious meals. He said everyone was so welcoming and friendly and that Metrocrest Services has made Texas “feel like home.”
GOLDEN GALA
In October, more than 600 guests attended the Golden Gala, a culmination of a year-long celebration honoring Metrocrest Services’ 50th Anniversary. Guests enjoyed music from the Time Machine Band, live and silent auctions, and the unveiling of the next chapter in Metrocrest Services’ history.
