Depending on the circumstances, Metrocrest Services can help families, seniors, and individuals pay their rent/mortgage or utility bills.

We know everyone’s circumstances are different, which is why people in need of assistance meet one-on-one with a case manager who works with them to tackle their immediate needs and help them on a personalized path toward a more stable financial future.

Who we serve

Metrocrest Services provides help to people who live in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Farmers Branch, and the city of Dallas in Denton County (ZIP code 75287). If you do not live in one of the cities we serve, click here to find resources available near you.

Please note that if you are requesting short-term rent/mortgage or utility assistance, there is roughly a three-week turnaround from the time you submit your application to when a meeting can be scheduled to review your request. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

HOW TO GET HELP

Eligibility requirements

If you are searching for short-term rent/mortgage or utility assistance, please review the income guidelines and required documentation below. We can only review requests for financial assistance once all documents have been received.

Step 1: Review Income Guidelines

If you fall at or below the income guidelines provided below you may be eligible for short-term rent or utility assistance from Metrocrest Services.

If you are over the income limit in our guidelines, you are unable to receive rent and utilities assistance from Metrocrest Services but could be eligible for other services such as Financial Education, Workforce, Food Pantry, etc.

Household Size 1 = Household Gross Monthly Income of $3,221; Household Size 2 = $3,679 Household Gross Monthly Income, Household size 3 = Household's Gross Monthly Income of $4,138, Household size 4 = Household Gross Monthly Income of $4,596; Household Size 5 = Household's Gross Monthly Income of $4,967; Household Size 7 = Household's Gross Monthly Income of $5,333; Household Size of 7 = Gross Monthly Income of $5,700; Household Size 8 = Household's Gross Monthly Income of $6,076. For each additional household member add $830 in Gross Monthly Income

Step 2: Review Documentation Requirements

Select the type of assistance you’re looking for to review the documents needed to process your request for short-term financial assistance.

Requests for rent/mortgage assistance are processed on a case-by-case basis. Due to funding availability, we are currently only supporting partial rent/mortgage payments for a current or future month of rent. To receive short-term assistance from Metrocrest Services, you must be able to pay a portion of the total rent/mortgage amount.

Documents required to apply for short-term rent/mortgage assistance

  • Photo ID for all adults in the household
  • Birth certificate, social security card, or school ID for all minors in the household
  • Proof of residence – a current and signed lease, current motel/hotel receipts, or a utility bill with your name and service address
  • Apartment ledger (request this from the apartment office) or motel receipts with up to four consecutive weeks of stay
  • Notice to vacate and/or eviction documentation (if applicable)
  • Bank statements from the past two months for every adult in the household and every bank account (including online banking, i.e., Chime, CashApp, etc.)
  • Pay stubs, social security, unemployment, or disability statements for the last six weeks for all adults in the household.

Additional documentation may be required to process your request.

Documents required to apply for short-term utility assistance: 

  • Photo ID for all adults in the household
  • Birth certificate, social security card, or school ID for all minors in the household
  • Proof of residence – a current and signed lease, current motel/hotel receipts, or a utility bill with your name and service address
  • Most recent utility bill(s)
  • Disconnect notice (if applicable)
  • Bank statements from the past two months for every adult in the household and every bank account (including online banking, i.e., Chime, CashApp, etc.)
  • Pay stubs, social security, unemployment, or disability statements for the last six weeks for all adults in the household

Additional documentation may be required to process your request.
