Metrocrest Services announces the appointment of two tenured staff members to key leadership roles. Beverly Grimley, who has assumed the role of Chief Programs Officer, and Mike Harris, the newly appointed Chief Grants and Compliance Officer. “Both of these dedicated professionals have played integral roles in Metrocrest Services’ growth and success—bolstering the organization’s commitment to serving the community,” explains Tracy Eubanks, Chief Executive Officer.
Beverly Grimley, the newly appointed Chief Programs Officer, has been with Metrocrest Services for seven years, initially joining as a volunteer and subsequently advancing into programs management as a full-time employee. Grimley’s passion for community service and her desire to make a meaningful impact drew her to the agency.
In her role as Chief Programs Officer, Grimley works with agency staff and volunteers to develop blended program solutions for individuals, families, and seniors that lead to self-sufficiency and foster independence. The creation of this position reflects the agency’s rapid growth in clientele, particularly evident during the pandemic, where the number of people served skyrocketed from 13,000 per year to 33,000 per year.
Mike Harris, the newly appointed Chief Grants and Compliance Officer, joined Metrocrest Services in 2013 as a development manager, responsible for grants, fundraising, and related activities. In his elevated role, Harris oversees the agency’s grants management process, ensures compliance with federal grant requirements, oversees funding allocation and expenditure processes, and reports on agency impact to foundations and stakeholders.
“It’s about properly managing how funding we receive from grants is spent. We have to make sure that we’re appropriately tracking metrics the funder has requested and then following up with our founders to tell them how each project is performing,” he explains.
After 50 years of operating out of rented space, this June, Metrocrest Services moved to its permanent home, located off Josey and Beltline Rd. in Carrollton, TX. The new 48,000 sq. foot building brings all of the organization’s services under one roof, creating convenient access for clients and providing an opportunity for people of diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and skillsets to come together.
Since moving to their new home, Metrocrest Services has experienced a 33% increase in visitors to its Food Pantry and a 19% increase in the number of Metrocrest area residents accessing the agency’s services.
“We all see need around us. We all have concerns about those that are suffering in our community,” Grimley says. “Having a place that focuses on those needs, that is supported by the community, and that people that care can come to help, I think that is the critical thing.”
Eubanks is excited about what the future holds for Metrocrest Services and the positive impact Grimley and Harris will make in their new roles. “The addition of these key leadership positions signifies the agency’s dedication to furthering its reach and commitment to serving the community,” explains Eubanks.
