Each year, D CEO Magazine, a division of D Magazine, conducts its Nonprofit and Citizenship Awards. It was an honor to be one of four finalists for the D CEO Award in the category, Nonprofit Organization (Large), for the entire Dallas region. It was even a bigger honor to be announced the winner!
This recognition highlights the role Metrocrest Services plays in the Metroplex nonprofit community and, most importantly, shines a spotlight on the amazing work our dedicated and compassionate employees and volunteers perform every single day.
With your help, during the first 12 months of the pandemic, Metrocrest Services helped our neighbors with:
- Housing Stability: We experienced a 97% increase in the number of families needing emergency rent assistance, and provided 3,795 months of safe housing (305% increase from the previous 12 months). In total, $3,397,478 was provided to families in need, a shocking 1,040% increase over the previous 12 months.
- Food Insecurity: The pantry distributed 3,940,756 pounds of food (a 346% increase over the previous 12 months), to 8,299 families (a 226% increase over the previous 12 months).
- Financial Empowerment: 2,317 households improved their knowledge about budgeting and daily spending.
- Employment Coaching & Job Readiness: 10,462 employment services were provided to 2,369 people (a 208% increase over the previous 12 months).
Winners were announced at the D CEO’s 2021 Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards Celebration held in late July. The program received more than 500 nominations and a total of 112 finalists were named. Every group nominated for this award played a critical role in serving the community during an extraordinarily challenging year. For a complete list of winners and finalists, click here.
