The Civic League

On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the 19th Annual Keyholder Breakfast, Metrocrest Services will honor The Civic League with the Lou Sartor Heart for the Community Award. This distinguished award carries the name of Lou Sartor, a dedicated philanthropist and community member. Award recipients have a ‘Heart’ for the community, demonstrated by their consistent efforts to make a difference.

“Metrocrest Services is grateful for our 36-year partnership with The Civic League,” shared Tracy Eubanks, CEO at Metrocrest Services. “The dedication and passion of The Civic League have made a profound difference in the lives of countless individuals throughout our community. We are excited to recognize them for their extraordinary impact.”

Building a Stronger Community Together

The Civic League’s commitment to promoting voluntarism and fundraising to support education, health & social services, and cultural arts in our community aligns perfectly with Metrocrest Services’ mission. The Civic League members have volunteered in the Metrocrest Services’ Food Pantry and provided grants to assist with our nutrition education programs, providing healthy food to individuals, families, and seniors experiencing food insecurity.

“The needs of our community continue to grow, and Metrocrest Services find ways to continue to address these challenges,” explained LaTisha D. Hagler Bickel, President of The Civic League. “The Civic League is proud to support Metrocrest Services in their continued efforts.”

About The Civic League

Founded in 1963, The Civic League has remained committed to promoting voluntarism and fundraising to support education, health services, social services, and cultural arts in our community. Their vision is to be the premier volunteer organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and families in need in the Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch Communities.

Year after year, The Civic League organizes highly anticipated fundraising events, including their annual ball and Holiday Home tour. These events bring the community together and raise vital funds, contributing over $3,000,000 to support essential initiatives in our area.

Nonprofit organizations that benefit from The Civic League’s fundraising efforts include Metrocrest Services, Camp Summit, Dallas Furniture Bank, Firehouse Theater, Pedi Place, CFBISD Education Foundation, Children’s Advocacy Center, and more. In addition to supporting local nonprofit organizations, The Civic League provides scholarships to deserving students, including those who are the first in their families to attend college. “Because of our support, it has created a ripple effect inspiring students to work hard to achieve their goals,” said Bickel. “Many have returned to the community, becoming involved in areas to help others.”
