Building Economic Stability Through Workforce Development

Finding a job that offers a living wage is crucial for achieving self-sufficiency. Metrocrest Services’ Workforce Development Department understands this and is dedicated to empowering local job seekers with the resources and connections they need to secure fulfilling careers.

Connecting Job Seekers with Opportunities

In May, Metrocrest Services partnered with the Carrollton Public Library to host a successful job fair sponsored by Dallas College. The event connected 312 job seekers with 17 local employers offering positions that paid at least $15 per hour and included valuable benefits. Edwin Robles, Workforce Development Manager, emphasizes, “We prioritize inviting employers who offer opportunities for financial stability.”

In June, Metrocrest Services will host The City of Carrollton for a hiring event. This event will allow job seekers to speak directly to hiring managers and learn what it’s like to work for the city.

Equipping Job Seekers with Tools

Beyond simply connecting individuals with jobs, the Workforce Development team helps to equips job seekers with the skills needed to thrive. Offering a variety of employment workshops hosted by industry leaders.

Recognizing the importance of a strong resume, Metrocrest Services recently partnered with Jeffery Ross, Deputy Director of HR at the City of Farmers Branch, to offer a Resume Building Workshop in the agency’s computer lab. Participants received expert guidance on crafting resumes that get noticed by hiring managers.

“Our commitment extends beyond one-time events,” Robles explains, “We offer a variety of monthly workshops led by industry experts and one-on-one employment coaching. This equips job seekers with the tools and confidence to secure their dream jobs.”
