At Metrocrest Services, a refrigerated truck is vital to ending hunger in our community. Last month alone, the pantry served 3,822 people (a 47% increase over the previous year). Unfortunately, our Food Pantry and warehouse are located 11 miles apart. Without a truck to transport food from the warehouse to the pantry, Metrocrest Services would be unable to serve our neighbors in need─ leaving thousands of people wondering where their next meal would come from.

With a refrigerated truck over 10 years old (and 231,000 city miles under its belt), the constant need for repairs was costing us money and time we didn’t have to spare. The truck had to be replaced for the Food Pantry supply chain to run smoothly.

To keep the food flowing, we embarked on the Ride to End Hunger campaign to purchase a refrigerated truck that allows us to meet the Food Pantry’s increased demand. Most of the funding has been secured thanks to the generosity of the North Texas Food Bank and Albertsons. However, we still need to raise $26,407 in community support to finish the campaign.

Will you help keep our Food Pantry fully stocked by joining the Ride to End Hunger?

Why join the ride?

With a new refrigerated truck, we can:

  1. Keep the Food Pantry supply chain running.
  2. Continue to provide fresh, nutritious food to neighbors in need.
  3. Serve more families in our food pantry thanks to a significantly larger truck bed.
  4. Accommodate more retail and donation pickups thanks to a larger lift gate.
  5. Eliminate costly repairs.
