Metrocrest Services is proud to announce Meghan Dours as its new Chief Development Officer (CDO), bringing more than 15 years of nonprofit fundraising and partnership development experience to the organization.
In her role, Dours will lead Metrocrest Services’ comprehensive fundraising strategy, including donor engagement, corporate partnerships, foundation relations, and philanthropic initiatives, strengthening the organization’s ability to serve neighbors across North Texas and advance its vision of building a thriving community for all.
Dours joins Metrocrest Services following leadership roles with the American Heart Association and the University of North Texas, where she secured and stewarded millions of dollars in philanthropic support, managed major gift portfolios, and built partnerships that drove meaningful community impact.
“Meghan brings both a strategic vision and a deep passion for transformational work,” said Gabe Madison, CEO of Metrocrest Services. “Her experience and commitment to connecting donors with the real impact of their investment will help propel Metrocrest Services into its next chapter of growth.”
Dours says she was drawn to Metrocrest Services because of its unique, holistic approach to addressing poverty and economic instability.
“What Metrocrest Services is doing is completely unique; it is a model more organizations should look to,” said Dours. “We don’t just catch people when they fall; we build the safety net so they don’t hit the ground, and then the launchpad to ensure they thrive. Joining a team focused on actively disrupting poverty, rather than just managing it, was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
As Chief Development Officer, Dours is focused on shifting perceptions about who Metrocrest Services serves and why the work impacts the entire North Texas community.
“There is a common misconception that financial strain in North Texas looks a certain way or that it’s only found in specific pockets. But the reality is that economic crises can happen quietly in any neighborhood, often hidden just out of sight,” she said. “I’m excited to connect our donors and partners to the true impact of their support, because investing in Metrocrest Services is investing in the long-term economic health of our entire region.”
Outside of her professional role, Dours enjoys gardening, learning new creative skills, and spending time volunteering alongside Metrocrest Services’ teams, including Sack Summer Hunger and Pantry programs.
“Seeing the work up close has been incredibly meaningful,” she added. “It reinforces just how life-changing this work truly is.”
Dours shared a message for both new and longtime supporters: “To those learning about Metrocrest for the first time: look a little closer at what we do, the work here is life-changing. And to our longtime supporters: thank you for helping us build this foundation. I can’t wait to meet you.”
