Metrocrest Services was honored to host the North Texas Food Bank on July 28, 2026, for a news conference highlighting the latest Feeding America data on hunger across North Texas. More than a dozen media outlets attended to hear from North Texas Food Bank President and CEO Trisha Cunningham about the growing need facing families in our region.
During the event, Metrocrest Services CEO Gabe Madison spoke about the critical partnership between Metrocrest Services and the North Texas Food Bank, as well as the importance of addressing the root causes of hunger.
“While the vast majority come to us because they are experiencing food insecurity, hunger is often just one symptom of a much larger challenge,” said Madison. “That’s why Metrocrest Services takes a holistic approach to supporting our neighbors. When we help someone secure affordable housing, enroll in safety-net programs like SNAP, gain new skills through certifications and training, find meaningful employment, and build healthy financial habits, we are helping create a pathway toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.”
The numbers are sobering. Texas continues to lead the nation in hunger, with one in four children experiencing food insecurity. Across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, nearly 1.4 million people face food insecurity, including more than 506,000 children.
