Metrocrest Services hosted its annual fall fundraiser on Tuesday, November 7, at the Courtyard by Marriott in Carrollton, TX. Over 400 community members attended the Hidden Heroes Breakfast, presented by Allstate Insurance Agent Aaron Augustine, to learn how Metrocrest Services is breaking barriers and building hope. The event aimed to shed light on the challenges faced by our neighbors receiving support from Metrocrest Services and celebrate the unsung heroes who make a significant impact in our community.

Breaking Barriers, Building Hope:

“The breakfast was designed to be more than a fundraiser; it was an immersive experience designed to educate guests about the barriers affecting individuals and families in our community who turn to Metrocrest Services for assistance,” shared CEO Tracy Eubanks. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in an interactive experience that provided a glimpse into the daily challenges faced by their neighbors.

“From navigating financial hardships to overcoming food insecurity and housing crises, the event explored the multifaceted obstacles that many in our community confront on a daily basis,” explained Eubanks.

Event emcee Mike Doocy and Director of Homeless Resources Melanie Meijering guided guests through an engaging activity and informative presentations to help them better understand the crucial role Metrocrest Services plays in breaking down barriers and building hope for neighbors in need.

Recognizing Hidden Heroes:

One of the highlights of the breakfast was the heartfelt acknowledgment of a few hidden heroes within our community. “These dedicated individuals have graciously and humbly committed their time, talents, and treasure to Metrocrest Services and our community,” shared Stephanie Wilcox, Director of Community Relations at Thomson Reuters, the event’s signature sponsor.

The 2023 Hidden Hero honorees are Andy Dastur, President of North American Insurance Services and Past-Chair of Metrocrest Services’ Board of Directors; Steve Erickson, owner of Honey Dudes Handyman Services; Sam Pack is the President and CEO of Sam Pack Auto Group; and Deebith Karthikeyan who represents the next generation of servant leaders.

By recognizing and celebrating hidden heroes among us, the event not only highlighted the challenges faced by our neighbors but also underscored the collective power of compassion and community support. To learn more about these dedicated individuals, click here.

“The Hidden Heroes Luncheon was more than just a one-time event; it was a catalyst for positive change in our community. By breaking down barriers and building hope, Metrocrest Services and its hidden heroes have set the stage for a brighter future, where compassion and understanding prevail,” said Eubanks.

As we continue to work together, we can look forward to a community that thrives on unity, empathy, and the unwavering belief that we can overcome any obstacle when we stand together.
